To The Bastions!
To The Bastions! is a game developed between a team of 5 students right after their final school year. It was developed thanks to MITA Innovation Hub for the opportunity where we worked on it during the 11-week program.
To The Bastions! recalls the events of the Great Siege from the perspective of the Knights. The game is a tile cooldown based strategic game where the user plays as the knights to beat the Ottoman Army. All the levels in this campaign are historically accurate based on what we know that happened. This information was also covered with Heritage Malta to make sure all information was correct.
The gameplay involves, summoning your soldiers on the battlefield, moving them around to gain board advantage, and when in range, attacking the Ottoman troops. The Knights have 5 different types of troops and so do the Ottoman. Every soldier has different stats in terms of health, attack range and more. Apart from that, there are also two power ups which the player can make use of.
When the user beats the Knights' campaign, another fictional story will be unlocked, whereby the player can now play as the Ottoman side. This fictional story recalls what could have happened to Malta and maybe even other places had the Ottoman managed to win the Great Siege.
My Role included : Research, Front End Development ( Unity, Javascript & C# ), Level Navigation, Level Balancing, Bug Testing & Implementing the UI into the game as designed by the Artist
